Health Minister Simon Harris says the Sale of Alcohol Bill – which contains a section on Structural Separation in mixed trading stores – will go ahead in the Autumn despite opposition from EU members relating to minimum pricing and health warnings on labels.
"Retailers must take every opportunity to explain to local TDs about the damaging impact that Structural Separation will have on your store without bringing any health benefits. RGDATA will also be informing the Minister and politicians about the unfair impact of structural separation on local family owned shops," says RGDATA Director General Tara Buckley.
