RGDATA has written to Ministers Batt O'Keeffe regarding his announcement about 700 "new" jobs at proposed Tesco stores.  "RGDATA has pointed out to the Minister that research has consistently shown that large multiple retailers do not create new jobs in an area - they just displace existing jobs," said Tara Buckley. RGDATA urged the Minister to give equal recognition to local indigenous shops that are providing 95,000 real jobs and making a €5 billion contribution to the economy.
